Church and Community walk 2018

Church and Community walk to Dodd Fell.
Yet again we were very lucky to have wonderful weather and spells of sunshine that brought out the best of the autumn colours. A very happy band of all ages set off up the hill with clear views across Bassenthwaite Lake and the hills beyond. Drinks and scones provided an early morning refreshment break before we continued towards the summit. The higher we climbed, the better the views that eventually stretched across to Derwent Water and all the valleys and mountains south of us. Once we were at the trig point the views opened up to the north with the Solway and the Scottish mountains clearly visible. This short walk has to be one of the very best in the Lake District. All too soon we were back in the car park with many making use of the tea house conveniently situated to welcome trekkers. The day was a great opportunity to catch up with friends and acquaintances. Thank you for coming.
